The first Global Challenge of the Extreme Masters season four will be held this Sunday at gamescom in Cologne, Germany. Just four teams have been invited for this grand opening of the Extreme Masters season four. The Global Challenge will see four teams playing best-of-three maps in a single elimination bracket. All teams are guaranteed €2.000, while the winner will walk away with €4.000. Dominating since March, fnatic are still going strong and will coming into this tournament be favored as high favorites. Everyone got their eyes on the Swedes at the moment; can they really continue their impressive winning streak? The first challenger will be mousesports, who come fresh from victory at GameGune 2009 and strong results in the German ESL Pro Series. The Germans might be the underdog in this matchup, but the Germans could very well be the most reasonable team to actually do some damage against the almighty fnatic team. [upcomingbooked,14,1124968] Second matchup will see the Scandinavian battle between mTw and SK Gaming. SK Gaming attended WCG Sweden last weekend, where a nail-biting semi-final against H2k Gaming denied SK Gaming access to World Cyber Games 2009, as H2k Gaming pulled off a 2-1 win. SK Gaming might have looked poor at WCG Sweden, but since the arrival of Jim "zneel" Andersson, the team has been practicing. This cannot be said about the 2008 dominating team, the Danes from mTw. The Danes have not been together since they attendance at e-Stars Seoul 2009, Muhamed "MJE" Eid will in fact arrive back from his vacation the same day the team depart for Cologne. Can the Danes live high on their routines, or will they simply face a better team when clinching swords with the Swedes? [upcomingbooked,14,1124969]
